John Poulsen –
I purchased the 3/8″ x 3″ anchors to install my 4′ high fence onto concrete perimeter wall for our property. BC Fasteners delivered quickly and provided an array of choices with competitive pricing. The strength of the 3/8″ was more than enough over the 1/2″ version. If the fence was seeing more heavy/taller forces; I may have gone with 1/2″ and longer but the 3/8 was a perfect choice.
The wedge anchors installed with ease. Drill size is the same as the bolt size. Depending on the condition of the concrete(hard/soft), installation can be a breeze. Our concrete was a bit softer so I decided to drill the holes then install the anchors (with a hammer) while pushing in the concrete “dust” around the perimeter of the anchor as I drove them into the holes. This created a slightly tighter hole for the wedge to “grab” allowing it to mushroom when tightening for a better grip.
Overall a very good experience with these anchors.
