1 review for Makita DPB184ZB 18V LXT 2″ Brushless Sub-Compact Bandsaw

  1. Anthony E

I received my DPB184ZB bandsaw 2-3 weeks after I ordered it, even though it was on back order at the time. The communication and delivery by BC fasteners was excellent. As for the tool, I am very happy with it. I previously bought the 182 Makita bandsaw, which was a great tool as well, but a little difficult for one hand operation, and the wheel cover on that model needed to be purchased separate, so I returned it and opted for the 184. The 184 jaw opening is just a little wider than 2″, but is a little too tight to fit 2″ EMT. You can cut 2″ EMT or PVC pipe but you need to rotate the pipe to cut completely around. But that being said, as an electrician I cut 1/2″ to 1-1/2″ pipe 95% of the time, so this model is by far the most practical for the majority of my work. It still has decent weight to it, but because it is small and easy to haul around, I find myself bringing it out at most job sites. A huge time saver and also saves a lot of arm labour! A bit pricey, but a worthwhile long-term investment.
