I have a butane soldering iron the heat comes out from holes near the tip so it heats everything around it including your fingers holding the solder I looked on the net and saw BC Fasteners had the Milwaukee battery iron on sale thought what the hell and purchased it what a great unit heats fast gets into tight spots it’s not heavy or awkward haven’t worn a small battery down yet.I live in Ontario free delivery was a couple days .just overall a great purchase no complaints about product or company handling my order I have quite a few Milwaukee cordless tools wished I would of found these guys sooner a lot of good pricing

It doesn’t take long to get hot and if you turn it off for 1 minute or 2 between 2 soldering and then turn it back on, it’s ready wihin a few seconds.

I have not had alot of time to utilize this soldering tool for much, But it heats up fast, and as always the shipping directly to my hotel at my work location away from home was fast. Better service than IF local suppliers actually stocked items.

Brought this soldering iron to the my job site and put it thru some real world testing.

Soldering (As good as a 20 watt corded iron)
Heat up time till ready to solder (60 seconds), yes it says ready to solder after 20 seconds but I was not able to melt my thin solder at all.
Run time (0.5W per solder connection on 22 gauge solid wire using the flat tip)
i.e. with a 1.5A battery, I was able to solder 30 connection with a fully charged battery till the LED flashing low battery, it will probably do a couple more but I never like to run my battery down to the cut off voltage.
Conclusion :-
Love this tool, pair it with two batteries and I can solder all the low voltage wires in a house without dragging a long extension cord around the house.
If you find yourself doing a lot of soldering in a day and the nearest outlet is too far or not available (house under construction), definitely buy this unit.

Enjoying this tool so far! Heats up very quick – less than 20 seconds. I use it with an XC battery which allows it to stand up nicely for when it is heating up or cooling down. I really like the ability to adjust the angle of the head. Another good value tool for the amount of money.
