adam –
here’s my honest review. Skip the online bias reviews from people who get free tools to “test”
Design:
The design or idea is great, this is a very convenient tool in that regards but it has a Large flaw and that’s filtration. The filter may be hepa rated and thats great in all, but the vacuum has very poor single stage sepration of material so the filter will clog VERY fast. Using it on auger bit saw dust it does great as larger heavier particles will stay in the bucket and not travel upto the filter. But finer dusts like masonry or especially drywall dusts will not bet “cycloned” out and a lot of that dusts will hit the filter and clog it.
Quality
Its Milwaukee and I’ve had not quality issues
Power:
Suction is pretty decent considering its a battery operated. Don’t get caught up in marketing BS it takes a lot of energy to move large amounts of air to create good suction, it will not “suck” as good as a cheap shop vac, but should last longer.
Runtime:
As long as you keep the filter clean I would say its got decent run time, a 5.0 can drain in minutes of constant use. I use minim 6.0 or 8.0 HO packs.
I would not recommend this unless a battery powered vac is absolutely needed, that can also be used as a dust extractor. Ill still mainly use my compact 5.5hp 20L shop vac with a filter bag. Filter in that unit will last 500x times longer.
