I tried this shoe on my new Makita 9404 yesterday. It is very easy to install and remove. Used it to sand a rough plank for a coffee table top and it worked very well preventing gouging with just a little practice. It required only a minor amount of hand sanding to get the final finish I desired. I would recommend this shoe for anyone who uses the sander on any size surfaces.
