Amazing tool.
its been a long time since I used a jig saw, and the last one I used was my dad’s chorded jig saw. This thing is miles on from that. The actions are smooth as silk, the LED light is amazing, and cuts pretty straight for a jig saw once you have a straight line jig set up.
I was cutting up some 6-8ft long plywood sections with this (since my tablesaw got delayed) and it worked great. The trigger can be tiring to use if cutting longer lines like I was, but visibility of the work piece was great (especially with the LED). The oscillating helped the jig saw cut through wood at a pretty unbelieveable rate, and the toolless blade change was amazingly easy to use and held onto the blades quite firmly. The oscillating motion helps cut through material quite a bit faster. A lot of the key parts are made from aluminum, and the plastic glide shoe is really smooth over even my pretty rough 1/2″ plywood. Lines were pretty clean (would be hard to tell they were made with a jigsaw).
I used some 2Ah batteries which seemed to get chewed up pretty quick, so would probably suggest using with a 4Ah battery or larger. The blower doesn’t do much, but the sight lines were great and the jig saw was really nicely balanced.
