Great little drill. Fits in my tool bag or clips on my pants much nicer than any 18v drill. As a service electrician this drill does everything I need an impact driver to do. I can also vouch for the Fuel lineup being more powerful and having longer run time than previous generations of m12 tools. The golden age of tools continues!!

Similar to other reviews, I am coming from a brushed Milwaukee M18 drill/driver set. I recent purchased the M12 2spd Screwdriver, which impressed the heck out of me. I then saw this little impact driver and thought if it’s the same caliber, I might as well complete the M12 drill/impact driver. Now, recognizing I am a DIY enthusiast, this M12 impact driver does everything my M18 brushed could do.
The weight is soooooo nice and the compactness I really like. Like all M12 stuff, the handle is a bit more girthy than other offering bit the quality is top notch, as one would expect. Highly recommend this impact driver for the DIY enthusiast.
I will let the trades folks comment on its commercial/industrial capabilities of this impact driver, but for residential and DIY, its got lots of power.

been using the basic brushed 18v Milwaukee impact for about 5 years. They usually last about 6-12 months and one of my coworkers got this 12v impact so i tried it and instantly loved it. Ordered my own and been using it daily for about 2 weeks now and it is great. Super light weight, plenty of power, 4 modes to choose from and battery life is great. I also bought the protective boot to try and save it from drops off ladders. I could see this lasting quite a long time. The only downside is the forward and reverse switch is spongy and does not have a positive click into place like the 18v models do. I use this for 1/2″, 1 1/2″ hex head Sheetmetal screws and 3″ wood screws and have had no issues at all. Definitely recommend if you are using mostly smaller screws and fasteners

I have the M18 version and it is great. This tool is a bit smaller which will work well in my trade (mechanic). The M18 will come home and if I need a little more juice l purchased the M12 stubby impact. More compact and more than enough power for little jobs in the cab, as well as panels ect. Good tool.

Read a lot about different impact drivers, with already owning the 12 volt Milwaukee battery for a heated jacket, decided to try the Milwaukee 2553-2. First, very small and compact, hugh plus, secondly it has the power to work. Used it for a few differnt jobs already and find it more than adaquit for the job. Sure happy I waited for this model to come out, lots of good features and great addition to the 12 volt lineup. Would recommend this to antone who wants a small and powerful tool to work on everything around the house.
